MICA POWDERS & FAIRY DUST (SIMULATED DICHROIC)

Here's a great way to use Mica powders without a clear cap.

You'll need:
Clear Coat Overglaze.
Mica Powder, any colour.
A stencil.
A stippling or short bristle paint brush.
Any type or COE of glass you want.

Instructions:
1. Wash your glass thoroughly.
2. Mix 1 part Mica to 2 parts Clear Coat. (Fig.1)
3. Place your stencil on top of your glass. Stipple the Clear Coat/Mica mixture over the stencil. (Fig.2)
4. Carefully remove the stencil and let the Clear Coat dry. It only takes a few minutes.
5. Fire your glass to at least 1300 for 5 minutes. You can go up to full fuse temperature if you want. (Fig.3)

Fairy Dust (Simulated Dichroic) is a great way to add some extra sparkle to any fused piece without the cost of using actual dichroic products. Sprinkle on like frit, cap with clear, and fire.
