Mars is a very unusual colour. The more transparent rods kiln strike red to dark burgundy.
You can lighten this effect by layering Mars over a transparent base or a light colour.
This glass generally kiln-strikes.
This glass also reacts intensely and immediately with TAG's silver-rich Zeus with no reduction needed.
Colours generally range from medium blue to pale celedon green from the Zeus and a red-burgundy
from the Mars.
Over-working this glass will cause it to over-strike to a beige/tan colour.

Gunmetal Metallic is a black glass made by Vetrofond. When worked in a neutral flame, this glass colour will develop a soft silver luster over the surface of the glass. Gunmetal Metallic is mildly shocky, which means that it might pop once or twice during the melt of a 13” rod. The surface of this colour can manifest some pitting, however, go back and re-melt the pitted surface in a neutral flame, the pitting will disappear. Gunmetal Metallic will luster in a variety of reduction flame settings, but it will luster in a neutral flame as well.
