Artistry In Glass :: BEADMAKING & FLAMEWORKING :: TORCHES, BURNERS AND ACCESSORIES :: HOT HEAD TORCHES :: HOT HEAD BEADMAKING TORCH

  HOT HEAD BEADMAKING TORCH
HOT HEAD BEADMAKING TORCH  Developed and designed exclusively for the bead making industry, this torch head for MAPP Gas tanks gives more oxygen to the head for truer, clearer and more vibrant colours. Inexpensive, needs no eloborate oxygen tanks and is easy to set up.

IF RUNNING THIS TORCH ON PROPANE, REGULAR CLEANING WILL BE NECESSARY AS PROPANE IS A VERY DIRTY FUEL AND WILL CLOG UP THE ORIFICES IN THE TORCH. MOVING TO A BULK FUEL SYSTEM:

How to use a bulk system safely:

The only additional item required is a HOSE SET.
A bulk system is safe and easy to use if you follow a few simple rules. The main thing to remember, the bulk fuel system should deliver clean fuel in vapor form to the Hot Head torch for the torch to function well.
1. Bleed the hose after every session so condensed liquid fuel doesn’t build up in the hose.
2. Drain your hose periodically. This will keep it clear of liquid fuel or sludge that builds up in any hose over time.
3. Examine the “drippings” after you drain the hose. This will help you assess the quality of fuel and condition of the tank your gas supplier gives you. Sludge in the drippin’s means the tank is dirty.
4. The HH is designed to attach to the work surface. The flame should always be pointing in an upwardly direction, never downward.
5. A regulator is not necessary. The HH is designed to work at full tank pressure.
6. Move, store and use your tank in the upright position. The tank should never be laid down on its side or inverted, even when it's being transported. If the tank is dirty, this will keep any corrosion by-products (rust, etc) at the bottom of the tank where there is little chance the dirt can migrate into the hose or torch.

Propylene VS Propane: The HH works most efficiently with propylene (MAPP) in the bulk tank system. However, some beadmakers like propane and get good results with it. Other beadmakers don't get good results with propane. Depends on the user, the individual HH torch, and the propane supplier.

Some don’ts: 1. The HH is not designed as a hand held torch where the flame would be directed downward. This should NEVER be done with a canister attached. If you MUST use the HH this way, as some people have (but it is NOT recommended), then be sure the HH is attached to a hose and that the fuel source is lower than the HH. Under these circumstances a flashback arrestor is highly recommended and a fire extinguish should be close by.
2. Never take your torch apart. If you have problem, contact Hot Head Source. The HH should operate for years without need for maintenance or cleaning. If your HH becomes fouled you will need to identify how it got fouled before proceeding or you’re in for a repeat of the same experience.
